RemitNoteUnverified experiment

About RemitNote

RemitNote is an independent browser tool that helps a payer describe how a payment should be allocated across supplier invoices. It was built as an unverified experiment to test whether a focused, no-login remittance advice generator is useful to accounts-payable staff and small-business bookkeepers.

Calculation method

Every amount is parsed into integer cents before calculation. For each invoice, the remaining balance equals the original amount minus cash paid, credit, and discount. The reconciliation state compares the stated payment total with the sum of cash paid across invoice rows. Negative values, more than two decimal places, and allocations that exceed an invoice’s original amount are rejected.

Independence and limits

RemitNote is not a bank, payment processor, accounting package, ERP, auditor, or evidence service. It does not verify payment settlement or supplier bank details. The generated notice and arithmetic checks require human review against an authorized accounting record.

Remittance advice is a notification, not proof of payment.
